Meet Dr. Jiang
Dr. Jiang grew up in the Midwest and attended University of California, Los Angeles, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He then completed his medical school and ophthalmology residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. He also pursued further fellowship specialization in Medical Retina at the University of Kentucky and in Vitreo-Retinal Surgery at the University of Illinois, Chicago.
Dr. Jiang is passionate about patient care, education, and research. He has volunteered at numerous outreach organizations to help provide care to under-served populations including providing free eye screenings and counseling. He obtained a grant and started a medical student run clinic that provided eye care to those without access to healthcare and medical insurance. The clinic is still running today.
He also has a strong passion for teaching ophthalmology and was named the University of Illinois Department of Ophthalmology Fellow of the Year for teaching residents about diseases of the retina during his fellowship. He also acted as Chief Resident during residency where he oversaw and taught medical students pearls of ophthalmology.
Dr. Jiang also believes that clinical research is vital to advancement in the field of ophthalmology and has published his work in various journals such as Ophthalmology, Asia-Pacific Journal of Ophthalmology, JAMA Ophthalmology, Ophthalmology Retina, Archives of Ophthalmology, Journal of Vitreoretinal Diseases and numerous others.
On a more personal level, Dr. Jiang fell in love with the diverse communities in Los Angeles and San Gabriel Valley during college at UCLA. He moved back to Los Angeles to serve these communities and also to be a part of them. He strives to provide every patient with tailored care for the best possible results, eye care education and clarity on complex medical issues.
In his spare time, Dr. Jiang likes to enjoy the outdoors and various ethnic cuisines. You can find him hiking the San Gabriel mountains, scuba diving, traveling, and shooting photography.
